Somatic Coaching

Somatic Coaching Is the process of learning through the body as  one whole integrated system.

It draws us towards greater authenticity by aligning the domains of mental and emotional processing with our physical being and presence.

The methodology invites us into new action in a grounded and centred way maintaining our new skills over time.   We are more able to respond with equanimity and grace under pressure, and more quickly able to recover balance when thrown.

Somatic Bodywork

As we grow and evolve our body is literally shaped by our life’s experience.  Think of a person whose shoulders never come down, or whose brow is constantly knitted.  Bodywork is the methodology for releasing stored patterns of tension from the muscles, creating space for more freedom, movement and energy.  Bodies become more relaxed, often bringing new insight, wisdom and capacity.

Ontological Coaching

Working ontologically cultivates the process of observing ourselves in action.  We get curious about who we are, the assessments and beliefs that we hold, the interpretations we make and how they shape our action.   Peeling back the hitherto unseen layers we find that we can create more choice and possibility.

EMDR

EMDR originated in the therapeutic world, known for its success in treating PTSD.  However,  it can be used in coaching to help shape us towards the future we are creating.  It’s particularly useful for helping to shift unwanted persistent behaviour, cleaning self-doubt and anxiety and building confidence.   EMDR can be applied to those sticky stuck places that are getting in the way of moving forwards.

Focusing

Most challenges are accompanied by feelings or sensations that we are unaware of because we live cognitively for much of the time.  Focusing is the process for checking with all of that through something called a ‘felt sense’, offering at times, truly remarkable levels of insight that carry us forwards on our onward journey.
